چکیده

In the current study, an effort is carried out to study influence of pentanol as low reactive fuel (LRF) along with diesel and Thevetia peruviana methyl ester (TPME) high fuels (HRF) in reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) engine. The experiments are conducted on dual engine at 50% load for RCCI mode operation by varying percentage injected fuels. results revealed that 10% exhibited higher brake thermal efficiency (BTE) 22.15% combination, which about 9.1% 27.3% than other B20 pentanol, B100 combinations respectively. As increased fuels, hydrocarbon (HC) carbon monoxide (CO) emissions while nitrogen oxide (NO x ) smoke decreased. Among various tested combination gives lower HC, CO NO emissions. At highest heat release rate (HRR) in-cylinder pressure found compared

The effect of hydrogen and nitrogen addition on heavy duty diesel engine emissions under reactivity controlled compression ignition combustion

The aim of this study is to evaluate a heavy duty diesel engine operation under reactivity controlled compression ignition combustion fueled with diesel oil and natural gas enriched with hydrogen and nitrogen addition. In this study, a single cylinder heavy– duty diesel engine is set to operate at 9.4bar gross IMEP (Mid- Load). The amount of injected diesel oil per cycle into the engine combust...

Experimental Investigation of Piston Heat Transfer in a Light Duty Engine Under Conventional Diesel, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, and Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition Combustion Regimes

An experimental study has been conducted to provide insight into heat transfer to the piston of a light-duty single-cylinder research engine under Conventional Diesel (CDC), Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI), and Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI) combustion regimes. Two fast-response surface thermocouples embedded in the piston top measured transient temperature. A ...

Experimental investigation on compression ignition engine powered by preheated neat jatropha oil

In the present study, the high viscosity of the jatropha curcas oil was decreased by preheating. The effect of fuel inlet temperature on performance of diesel engine is evaluated. A single cylinder, four stroke, constant speed, air cooled, direct injection diesel engine developing a power output of 3.7 kW at 1500 rev/min typically used in agricultural sector was tested using neat jatropha oil a...

Experimental Investigation of Pongamia and Neem Methyl Esters as Biodiesel on Compression Ignition Engine

Biodiesel is a fuel comprised of mono alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats. Biodiesel is reliable, renewable, biodegradable and regarded as a clean alternative fuel to reduce exhaust emissions. Vegetable oils have become more attractive for the production of biodiesel in the recent past owing to its environmental benefits and the fact that it is made...
